TOKS continues to implement its plans to develop a zero-emission public transport network

TOKS continues to implement its plans to develop a zero-emission public transport network – this week, an electric bus from the Turkish manufacturer BMC was tested on Vilnius district routes.

The BMC Procity+ 12 M EV, which carried passengers from Vilnius to Valčiūnai for several days, is a 12-meter-long low-floor electric bus, the model of which was developed in cooperation with ASELSAN, and the latest versions also use electric drive and battery solutions from German partners. The manufacturer is targeting this bus at European public transport operators.

During testing on Vilnius district routes, the bus was tested for its ability to successfully maneuver in narrow passages, the ability to comfortably drive on existing road surfaces, passenger comfort, and functionality when transporting people with disabilities.

Currently, about a third of the TOKS bus fleet is electric vehicles. Last summer, TOKS started operating 50 electric buses in the Klaipėda region, and in the autumn, electric TOKS buses began operating in the Alytus district.
